The author created simple and specific rubrics whose scales were coded either zero or one for an English writing course. The course's purpose is to help students be able to form acceptable English sentences. Then she used the specific rubrics to grade her students' papers and examined the benefit of the rubrics. It was found that the grading was both efficient and correct.
